Elves' Gift ShopJunior Woman's Club Elves' Gift Shop Helps Kids and Parents Get in Holiday SpiritSTATE COLLEGE, PA -- The Junior Woman's Club Elves' Gift Shop, a longtime local holiday event where children can buy inexpensive gifts for others with the help of Girl Scout "elves," will be held Saturday, Dec. 6, 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m., in the State College High School South Building. Proceeds benefit the American Red Cross. At the Gift Shop, which is appropriate for ages 3 and up, children are paired with personal "elves" who help them select gifts and manage their spending money. The event includes gift tables for mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, pets and teachers, selling items such as picture frames, figurines, ornaments, jewelry and sports paraphernalia. Prices range from $1 to $5. The event also features vendors and crafters, a homemade cookie sale, a snack/lunch bar and a holiday raffle. Vendors will be offering fleece products, books, jewelry, toys and other items. Raffle prizes include spa services, jewelry, gourmet treats, movie tickets, restaurant gift certificates and lodging, among others.
